Cynthia began her career by modeling in New York. An agreement for five years was signed by Wihelmina Models. She then was the face for Essence Magazine. Cynthia's Essence initial cover not only was one of the most sold covers but was also Susan Taylor's favorite. In the following days, Cynthia booked her second cover and thus set the mood for her career to be successful. Following her move to Paris Cynthia took to her Paris Fashion Week runways and Milan Fashion Week. After spending almost one year, Cynthia came back to New York City and was highly sought-after for to launch advertisements in Maybelline, Oil of Olay and Macy's. Vogue's, Glamour's, Elle's, Essence's and Vanity Fair magazine editorials soon were followed. One of her most memorable career moments was being chosen over Naomi Campbell for a co-starring role opposite Sandra Bernhadt in the film "Without You I'm Nothing."
